We receive frequent calls from folks who are pursuing the dream of living in a log home, situated in a wonderful country setting. Many of these folks have expressed that "they have always wanted to live in a log home since a young age." With all the variety of spacial needs, features desired, architectural elements and log profile selections, and more, it is a wonderful experience to learn of their vision, and their heart's desire, and their life's journey.
And it is their personal story, and who they are that moves a designer to create that special design, tailored just for them. And we find joy in first entering into, and then staying in the creative atmosphere necessary to meet or exceed their building plans expectations. Truly there isn't anything more appealing than the peace and fulfillment that we too have found in dwelling in a secluded setting of natural elements, breathing the fresh fragrance of the tall evergreens, and abiding with peaceful neighbors such as the little creatures of the cathedral forest, who sing their joyful songs of praise and thanksgiving daily.
Such is the multi-faceted inspiration of this blog post and plan design, which we have named The Port Wing. And with warm remembrance of a small community of this same name, located in Northern Wisconsin where folks go to fish and camp, and enjoy the surrounding goodness. May this design bless many others on life's journey who share a similar fondness and vision.
